The TotalEnergies 2021 Cup has shown the enthusiasm of young people for football.

However, the occasion of the continental football festival and the 11 February holiday should be used to raise awareness among young people about the dangers of illegal immigration and human trafficking.

Two perverse phenomena at the centre of the awareness campaign conducted by the association MISSION 89 with the help of key actors of the sports movement and the Cameroonian authorities.

Incident in Fürstenwalde

The Embassy of Cameroon in the Federal Republic of Germany has taken note of the circulation since 1 September 2025 of a video that has gone viral, showing an assault on a man described in the newspaper 'MOZ.de' as a Cameroonian national, violently attacked by a group of individuals around Fürstenwalde in Berlin.

The Embassy has contacted the competent authorities to request information on this situation, which it is monitoring very closely in cooperation with the said authorities.
