CONSULAR CARD
1 – Purpose of the consular card
The consular card is a secure identification document for Cameroonian citizens residing abroad.
Utility: allows the Embassy to contact you (emergencies, elections, events) and facilitates administrative formalities.
2 – Who is eligible for the consular card
Any Cameroonian national residing abroad. No age or length of residence requirement — registration is open to all Cameroonians living outside Cameroon.
3 – Available procedures
Two procedures are available:
- Initial registration (for new applicants)
- Renewal (expired or soon-to-expire consular card)
4 – Documents to be prepared (to be scanned for uploading)
- Copy of a valid passport or other identity document (birth certificate, national identity card, certificate of nationality)
- Copy of a valid residence permit (permanent or temporary) or proof of residence in the host country
- Employment certificate or school attendance certificate (as applicable)
- Copy of marriage certificate (if married)
- Number of the expired consular card (if renewing)
Online pre-registration
Entry of personal details + travel document details + identity document details Recommended: at least 1 month before expiry + details of place of residence + upload of digital supporting documents.
Official platform: www.evisacam.cm
Online payment
Payment via a method integrated into the platform (stamp duty). Secure and fast. Amount: €45 for Germany.
No refunds after submission, except for overpayments following a request.
Processing & approval
Approval by the Diplomatic Mission or Consular Post. Indicative timeframe: 14 days to receive a response.
✅ If approved: the user will receive a QR code to be printed and presented later.
Registration at Embassy & card issuance
No prior appointment needed – Attend in person at the Embassy or Consulate (Germany) for biometric data collection (photo and fingerprints). The consular card is printed on the same day and handed over immediately.
Important: the application must be submitted to a single processing unit, namely the competent Diplomatic Mission or Consular Post covering the country of residence.
6 – Fees (stamp duty)
Fees are paid online during pre-registration. No fees will be refunded once the application has been submitted for processing (except for overpayments following a request).
7 – Processing
- Once pre-registration has been completed, the user has an indicative period of 14 days to receive a response from the Embassy’s services.
- If the Embassy’s services approve the application, the user will receive a “validation” in the form of a QR code to be printed and presented to the Embassy’s services on the day the consular card is issued.
8 – Registration and issue of the consular card
- The consular card is issued by the Embassy without the need for a prior appointment.
- The user must attend in person for registration and the collection of biometric data (photograph and fingerprints).
- The consular card is printed on the same day and handed over to the applicant.
9 – Important points
- No fees will be refunded once the application has been submitted for processing (except for overpayments following a request).
- Use the official platform www.evisacam.cm (be wary of scams).
- The consular card is required to benefit from all consular services.
