AUTHORIZATION TO REPATRIATE A CORPSE

In the event of the death of a Cameroonian in Germany, the persons responsible for the repatriation of the mortal remains are required to obtain a repatriation authorization issued by the Cameroonian Embassy in the Federal Republic of Germany. The documents to be provided are the following:

  1. Request addressed to the Ambassador
  2. Photocopy of the passport of the deceased
  3. Photocopy of the birth certificate of the deceased
  4. Photocopy of the death certificate
  5. Fees: Free of charge

The authorization to repatriate the corpse is usually issued immediately after receipt of the above-mentioned documents.
If the applicant is physically present at the embassy, he/she can receive the authorization the same day. If not, he/she should enclose a stamped envelope for registered mail with his/her address or give a signed and legalized proxy to a third party.

The Embassy of Cameroon in the Federal Republic of Germany (Berlin) regrets to announce the passing of Mr. Ulrich Nogue, a Cameroonian national, whose lifeless body was found on Saturday, July 5, 2025, in the city of Berlin (Germany).

The Embassy informs that the competent German authorities have been notified. It is closely monitoring this matter in collaboration with the said authorities and calls on the community to observe a moment of reflection.
