PARTICIPATION OF CAMEROON IN THE 68TH GENERAL CONFERENCE OF THE INTERNATIONAL ATOMIC ENERGY AGENCY (IAEA)

A delegation from the Republic of Cameroon is attending the 68th General Conference of the International Atomic Energy Agency, which opened today, September 16, 2024, at the United Nations Center in Vienna, Austria.

The delegation, led by Mrs. Madeleine TCHUINTE, Minister of Scientific Research and Innovation, also includes H.E. Mr. NDOCKI Victor, Cameroon’s Ambassador to Germany and Permanent Representative to the IAEA; Mr. Augustin SIMO, Director General of the National Agency for Radiation Protection; Mr. Patrice ELE ABIAMA, Coordinator of the National AFRA Program; Mr. Colince NGUELO, Deputy Director of Phytosanitary Interventions at the Ministry of Agriculture; Mr. Francis Emmanuel NGOME AJEBESONE, Deputy Director General of IRAD; and Mrs. BABILAH BOBMIA Blandine, representing the Ministry of External Relations.

The IAEA General Conference is taking place from September 16 to 20, 2024, in Vienna.

The Embassy of Cameroon in the Federal Republic of Germany informs the Cameroonian community in Germany that it has been informed of the murder of Ms. YOMI MBAKOB Virginie Sonya, a Cameroonian national, which occurred on 31 August 2026 in Erkner, on the outskirts of Berlin.

The alleged perpetrator of this act has been apprehended, and police investigations have been opened.

Deeply affected by the death of one of its fellow citizens, the Embassy expresses its condolences to the relatives of the deceased, to her family, and to the members of the Cameroonian community in Germany.

The competent German authorities have been contacted in order to request precise information regarding this tragedy and the investigation opened by the Police.

While sharing the emotion and sadness felt by the Cameroonian community following this act, the Ambassador commends the spirit of solidarity that has been shown and calls upon his compatriots to remain calm and composed, pending the outcome of the investigation and the subsequent judicial proceedings.
