What is the mortuary laissez-passer?
The mortuary laissez-passer is an authorization issued by the Embassy allowing the transfer and repatriation of the body of a Cameroonian national who has died abroad to Cameroon. This procedure is carried out entirely via the official platform www.evisacam.cm.
a) Documents to prepare (to be scanned for uploading)
- Copy of the deceased’s passport or other identity document (birth certificate, national ID card, certificate of nationality)
- Copy of flight ticket (if available)
- Copy of the deceased’s residence permit
- Copy of death certificate
- Request addressed to the Ambassador
- Information about the funeral company / undertaker
- Information about the authorized person (if applicable)
Important: all supporting documents must be scanned (PDF or image format) for upload onto the platform.

Online pre-registration
The user enters and uploads on the platform www.evisacam.cm:
- Information about the funeral company / undertaker
- Information about the authorized person
- Information about the deceased (civil status, identity)
- Travel information (transport, itinerary)
- Sworn declarations
- Digital supporting documents
To be completed at least 7 days before the intended departure

Online payment
The user makes the payment online via the module integrated into the platform.
💶 Amount: €153 for Germany
No refunds after submission, except for overpayments.

Application processing (approval)
The diplomatic mission or consular post examines the application and decides on the action to be taken.
- Indicative timeframe: 7 days to receive a response
- Verification of documents and eligibility
- Validation by the competent Embassy services

Issuance of the mortuary laissez-passer
After approval, the laissez-passer is issued.
- If the applicant is physically present at the Embassy: issued the same day
- If the applicant is at a distance: sent by registered mail (include a stamped envelope) or handed to an authorized third party (signed and legalized power of attorney)
📌 The authorization is generally issued immediately upon receipt of complete documents
c) Fees
€153 for Germany
Fees are paid online during pre-registration on the platform.
d) Important points
- No fees will be refunded once the application has been submitted for processing (except for overpayments following a request).
- Use the official platform www.evisacam.cm (beware of scams).
- Indicative processing time: 7 days after pre-registration.
- For applicants at a distance: remember to include a stamped envelope with your address or provide a power of attorney to a third party.
- The application must be submitted to the competent Diplomatic Mission covering the country of residence (Germany).
