DR. PRISCILLIA MANJOH HONORED AT THE EMBASSY OF CAMEROON IN GERMANY FOR WINNING THE 2023 MOUNT CAMEROON LITERARY GRAND PRIZE

On 19 December 2024, the Ambassador of Cameroon received Dr Priscillia Manjoh, winner of « THE MOUNT CAMEROON LITERARY GRAND PRIZE 2023 » for her latest novel ‘ANGRI’, published in 2023. Dr. MANJOH was chosen from among more than forty renowned authors by a jury of leading literary academics. She thus becomes the first winner of this prestigious prize in the dynamic Cameroonian diaspora in Germany and succeeds the renowned writer Djaili AMADOU AMAL, who won this award in 2022 for her novel ‘Heart of the Sahel’.

The prize, which was presented by Cameroon’s Minister of Arts and Culture in May 2024 to teacher and writer Dr MANJOH, is placed under the patronage of the Association of Cameroon Poets and Writers. Its aim is to promote literature and popularise reading in Cameroon.

On her return to Germany, where she lives with her family, Dr MANJOH was keen to present her prize to the Embassy of Cameroon, as a sign of her gratitude for the institutional support she receives from her country, Cameroon. After presenting the quintessence of her novel ‘ANGRI’, which is a reflection of Cameroon’s multiculturalism, Ambassador SEM NDOCKI congratulated the winner and urged her not to relax her commitment to the unity of her country, which she advocates through her writing.
